High Meadow Farm
A Historical, Recreational and Sportsman's Retreat
in the Heart of the Greenbrier Valley of West Virginia
Welcome to High Meadow Farm Lodge and to an area of the Greenbrier River Valley that is rich in history as well as the natural beauty of West Virginia 's rolling hills and mountains. Come stay in a lodge built with hand-hewn white oak logs by some of the areas earliest settlers and find a special retreat from the outside world. Situated on its own private road, the location offers privacy, yet provides spectacular panoramic views of the surrounding mountains. The perfect tonic for anyone needing relief from the modern pace of life.
When your family or group arrives you are the only guests. There are 8 various size beds in five sleeping areas. The lodge can comfortably sleep up to twelve people. There is a five hundred square foot deck spanning the front of the lodge and overlooking the mountains. There are two complete bathrooms, a modern kitchen with all necessary utensils and dishware, a dining area and two wood stove fireplaces for chilly weather. The original log cabin is a historical renovation. Hiking trails and a fishing pond are within short walks from the lodge.
Opportunities abound for the nature lover or the sportsman. The area is blessed with two wild and beautiful rivers -- the New and the Greenbrier. These offer the possibility for white water rafting and canoeing. Historic Lewisburg and the West Virginia state fair (late August) are close by. A ski resort, two national forests, the New River Gorge National Park, Pearl Buck's birth place, the old Rehoboth Church (first church established west of the Alleghanies), the Greenbrier River Trail and mountain bike riding are some of the attractions within short drives. But most of all, High Meadow Farm lodge is a retreat in the best sense. It has a warm, rustic, and restful atmosphere that perfectly suits a family getaway, a reunion, a executive retreat, or a sportsman's vacation.
