Built in 1902 as part of the Greenbrier College for Women as a gift from Andrew Carnegie. Offering diverse performing arts series, art galleries, pottery, weaving, dance & art studios, classrooms and meeting areas.

Terror of the Tug, written by Jean Battlo, is an outdoor drama based on the coal mine wars and the story of the murder of Sid Hatfield and Ed Chambers on the steps of the McDowell County Courthouse. Dates showing in 2008: July 25-26 and August 1-2. Shows begin at 8pm at the McArts Amphitheatre located off Rt 52 in Welch.
