Water Sports
Beautiful rivers, flowing streams and serene lakes are all a part of southern West Virginia’s charm. Our waterways offer a plethora of activities for you to take advantage of. Whitewater rafting, family floats and fishing adventures are just a few ways to enjoy our rivers.
Rent a canoe or kayak for a trip down the Greenbrier River or a day at the lake, perfect for the family looking to spend a lazy day together on the water. Enroll in a kayak clinic on the New or take a ride with the New River Jetboats to spy the New River Gorge Bridge from a down under view.
Spend a day at one of our recreational lakes swimming, fishing or in a boat. Some lakes offer paddle boat, fishing boat and/or pontoon boat rentals. You can also take a guided pontoon boat tour on Summersville Lake, affectionately reffered to as "the Little Bahamas of the East" because it offers such great scuba diving opportunities.
Many of our parks offer pool activities – whether you want to relax by the pool or let your kids enjoy a waterslide park there are plenty of ways to enjoy the water and the sunshine in southern West Virginia.
