When choosing a vacation destination it is important to know what to do, where to eat and the best places to shop!

Southern West Virginia is a destination filled with opportunities for all kinds of diverse activities, great cuisine and unique shopping experiences.

Southern West Virginia offers world-class adventure activities. Known for our rivers where you can raft, boat and fish – southern West Virginia also offers spectacular hiking, biking, horseback riding, rock climbing, caving, ATVing and more.

Having four distinct seasons, winter brings us lots of snow, great downhill and cross country skiing and snow tubing.

After your daily adventures you will want to enjoy a great meal. Southern West Virginia has a variety of restaurants to choose from. Many are locally owned and offer you a taste of West Virginia. Choose from fine dining, casual cuisine, fast food or kick back at an area lounge with a drink and a sandwich. If you are bringing a group to our area there are also catering options available.

Shopping!! Go antiquing, visit a local art gallery, or enjoy one of our many unique specialty shops offering everything from local souvenirs to handmade arts and crafts. Motorcycle shops are set up to cater to the riders who tour our wonderful (and curvy) West Virginia roads and outdoor shops handle all of your gear needs for hiking, biking, climbing and more. Your southern West Virginia vacation is not complete until you have visited Tamarack “The Best of West Virginia”. This one-of-a-kind facility showcases West Virginia artisans in every artistic venue: wood working, glass ware, jewelry, clothing, food, wine, coal creations and so much more.
