Outdoor Dramas
June 8, 2010 - August 22, 2010Put on by Theatre West Virginia. This year's productions include the historical dramas: 'Honey in the Rock', 'Hatfields & McCoys'. Also "Footloose" and "Willy Wonka". Open Tues-Sun 8:15 pm. Cliffside Amphitheatre - Grandview

July 4th Celebrations and Fireworks
July 1, 2010 - July 5, 2010Celebrate the 4th of July in southern West Virginia at any one of these fireworks displays!
Alderson – July 1-5 - Alderson 4th of July Celebration with Fireworks at Alderson High School football field at 10pm on the 3rd and the 4th.
Beckley – July 4 - Fireworks, 9:30 pm – Beckley Raleigh County Convention Center/Pinecrest area
Bluefield – July 3 – Fireworks at Bowen Field following Bluefield Orioles baseball game
Beckley – July 3 – Fireworks at Linda K Epling Stadium Field following the WV Miners baseball game
Charleston – July 2-3 - Fireworks at Power Park immediately following West Virginia Power baseball game (4th of July Celebration on the 3rd)
Fayetteville – July 2-4 - New River Gorge Heritage Festival. Fireworks on the 4th at Fayetteville’s City Park, 10 pm
Hico – July 3 – 4th of July Celebration and Fireworks at Songer Whitewater
Summersville – July 4 – Starting at 6pm, live entertainment with fireworks @ dark at the Northside Development
Tams (outside of Beckley), WV - July 2-5 - Thrills in The Hills Celebration with fireworks scheduled for 9:30 pm on Saturday July 3rd.
Three Rivers Avian Center Public Tour Day
July 3, 2010Bring your family & friends! Admission is free but donations are very welcome. Three Rivers Avain Center's mission is to provide veterinary and rehabilitative care to WV's threatened wild birds. The Center will be open for free public tours from 1 PM to 5 PM.

If You Give a Moose a Muffin
July 5, 2010 - July 6, 2010"If a moose comes to visit you may give him a muffin, but he will probably want some jam to go with it . . ." These are the words that set off a crazy chain of never ending events. Dinner theatre for children.
Admission is $13 for adults and $8 for students/children. Starts at 6pm. Also show on July 10th (Matinee at 3pm) and July 12-13th.

John Henry Days
July 9, 2010 - July 11, 2010The legend of how John Henry beat the steam drill has been told and retold not only in WV but all over the country. This three-day festival features unique events and demonstrations, children's activities and fabulous music entertainment.

Scenic Mountain Triathlon

Summer Fun Day

27th Annual Bear Hole Road Race

WV Mountain State Gospel Singers
July 18, 2010 - July 25, 2010All Singers Welcome! Choir Singing at 7pm Sun, 18th - Thurs, 22nd; Youth Choir Friday at 1pm; Saturday from 1:45 - 6:45 with Quartet/Trio Only at 7pm; Sunday (25th) Worship 10am with sing going from 11am to 3pm.
Located 2 miles E of the intersection of US-19 and WV-129, South of Summersville, WV.
Campground available for tent, trailer or motor home, modern restrooms and showers, limited electrical, dump stations and water available on grounds. Handicap friendly.
No charge for sings, however donations are appreciated.

July 26, 2010 - August 1, 2010A week-long event in Hinton that showcases historical water & frontier activities. Street fair, parades, fishing tournament, car show, coronation of Queen Mermaid, street dances, rubber ducky race. Downtown Hinton and the Rivers.
