West Virginia Calendar of Events

Whitewater rafting season begins April 1 and runs through Fall. Whether you are looking for a float trip, a family adventure or an adrenaline packed whitewater run - Southern West Virginia's rivers have a trip for you.

A week-long event in Hinton that showcases historical water & frontier activities. Street fair, parades, fishing tournament, car show, coronation of Queen Mermaid, street dances, rubber ducky race. Downtown Hinton and the Rivers.

Rubber Duckie Race at the WV State Water Festival.

Five day mountaintop gathering of string band musicians & fans from around the world. Concerts, contests, square dances, workshops & family activities. Rough camping available.

Come and see why Rolling Stone magazine calls Frampton "one of those quintessential '70s success stories." This legendary rock guitarist will blow you away with such hits as "I'm in You", "I Can't Stand It No More" and "Do You Feel Like We Do?" in an evening of thrilling guitar solos, romantic piano ballads and all-around great music. Performance is at 8pm.

Bring your family & friends! Admission is free but donations are very welcome. Three Rivers Avain Center's mission is to provide veterinary and rehabilitative care to WV's threatened wild birds. The Center will be open for free public tours from 1 PM to 5 PM.

All special family event day activities, unless otherwise noted, are included in the price of gallery admission which is free for members or $7 for adults and $5.50 for children.

Aviation Celebration is the theme for this Fun Day from 11am to 4pm. Join us for some high flyin' fun at our new Family Fun Day! Make paper airplanes, whirligigs and rockets and test your new creations at our flying range. See a special science demonstration all about flight. Check out our giant screen film - Fight Pilot: Operation Red Flag and meet some of the professionals whose careers really take flight!

Cross-country mountain bike race for beginners to experts.

Relive the New Wave era of the '70s and '80s with two iconic bands in one night! Don't miss the timeless band Blondie performing its unique style of music with such hits as "Heart of Glass" and "Call Me". Bursting onto the scene with their own brand of feel-good music the B-52s showcase their trademark quirky style in such songes as "Rock Lobster" and the ultimate party hit "Love Shack". Concert begins at 8pm.

The 14th Annual Appalachian Festival is three big days packed with arts, crafts, entertainment, music, food and fun! Held in Beckley and throughout Raleigh County.

Crafters from around the region display and sell their crafts. Quilt show, art show, fabulous food and live Appalachian entertainment.

Class VI River Runners, New River Gorge - 50%of rafting trip cost will be donated to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. Call for details.
