There’s a fine boutique distillery here in the Appalachians, as well. You can enjoy fine spirits any time of year, and learn about this ancient distilling process as you tour a state of the art facility.
Watts Roost Vineyard

Keep your wine glass after sampling award-winning wines crafted on-site from locally grown French-hybrid grapes. Red and white, dry to sweet varieties available. New tasting room and production facility open. Tours, tastings and sales. Thursday-Saturday 1 to 6pm, by chance or by appointment. Visa and Mastercard accepted.
Kirkwood Winery & Isaiah Morgan Distillery
Kirkwood Winery, located in Summersville, Nicholas County at 45 Winery Lane off of Phillips Run Road. Making 33 different wines. The Country Store at Kirkwood Winery offers a wide variety of wines as well as a unique selections of regional heritage crafts. Grape Stomping Festival held annually on the third weekend of September. Open daily 9 am to 5:30 pm, Sunday 1 pm to 5:30 pm. Tours. Buses welcome. Locally owned and operated. Major credit cards.

Wine tasting, sales and tours. World class wine. Blueberries for picking. Meetings, weddings, reunions. Elegant setting. Open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 9 am to 5 pm. Exit 42 off I-64/77. Spring Wine Festival held annually the 3rd weekend in June. Major credit cards.
