West Virginia State Parks
With 12 state parks and forests to choose from in our area, you can find whatever you’re looking for in a park during your visit. If you love golf, waterfall viewing, or any of the other loads of activities available, we’ve got a State Park for you.
Wildlife Management Areas
There are three Wildlife Management Areas in Southern West Virginia. These are excellent places for hunting, fishing, shooting sports, picnics, and other activities. Boating is available at all three areas. Get a little wilderness in your life when you visit our part of the Appalachians.
National Parks
Nowhere in America are there three national parks in such close proximity as here in Southern West Virginia. Comprised of sections of the New, Gauley, and Bluestone rivers, the National Park service manages more than 100,000 acres of river valley for the enjoyment of the public.
Local Parks
Many of the small towns in and around our mountains have lovely parks to enjoy, right in town. Each one holds a certain history- you can get to know a place pretty well by spending a little time in the park. If you’re wanting to find local flavor in southern West Virginia, the town park is a good place to look.
